Pantomime Auditions

We can now announce that auditions for our 2020 pantomime, Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates, have now been arranged; they will take place as follows:

Venue: Derby Homes Community room in Acorn Close in Shelton Lock (just near the petrol station, opposite the chip shop).

Dates: July 16th and 23rd, plus August 13th (for anyone who can't make either of the first 2 dates)

Time: 6.30pm

Important things to be aware of:

We welcome children from age 8 upwards. Any child still at school up to and including Year 11 from next September MUST be accompanied to the audition by a parent or responsible adult who can complete the forms required for a performance licence. You must bring a copy of the child's birth certificate and two copies of a recent head and shoulders photograph of the child. We would welcome any parent who is willing to be licenced as a chaperone, please let us know if you are prepared to do this. Chaperone requirements are becoming more strict so the more people we can call on the better 🙂

Show dates are 16th to 19th January 2020, you must be available every night that week, plus Saturday and Sunday afternoons, for the performances.

Parking is available outside the community room on the kerbside, but there's only room for a few cars there. We are not allowed to use the residents' car park, so if you can't park in Acorn Close itself you can park outside the chip shop or up Weston Park Avenue.

Rehearsals will start in September, we will need to know if there are any evenings in the week that you or your child has other commitments so we can plan rehearsal schedules accordingly.

There are lots of roles available for both adults and children, male and female. It's always great fun being involved in a pantomime - please do come along!

In addition, there will always be a need for people to help behind the scenes, chaperones, stage crew, technical crew, front of house people. If you don't feel you want to act but want to be involved in another way then please do let us know - we will love you forever!

Potential new members - we have had approaches from a number of potential new people, if you are one of these please don't be shy, please come along - we're very friendly! You will be made very welcome. You do need to be aware that if you are cast in the play you will need to become a full member of the Company (for insurance purposes) at a cost of £10 per annum.
